Scrap Metal Recycling Law
Scrap metal recycling in Ohio has changed due to recent
regulations required by the State. Ohio Law requires a valid State I.D.
or Driver's License to sell scrap metal. In addition, a seller must agree to
have their photo taken at the time of transaction. Due to the high theft
rate of items and materials such as copper, aluminum, air conditioners and
copper wire, lawmakers had to create additional requirements to the scrap metal
recycling industry.
Westpark Recycling is a registered scrap metal recycler in
Elyria, Ohio / Lorain County and will work with local law enforcement to prevent
theft.
